Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Junior Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, stocks & inventory, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with taxation regulations. Your expertise in Tally Software, along with your proficiency in English and a local regional language in India, will be instrumental in handling various accounting tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a graduate degree in commerce and accounts, have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate / business entity, and be familiar with filing sales tax and income tax returns, as well as bookkeeping practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records using Tally Software, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment and collection of outstanding invoices.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Prepare and file sales tax and income tax returns in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the maintenance of stocks & inventory, preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting controls and best practices.
  • Manage payroll processing and maintain employee records related to compensation and benefits.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate degree in commerce and accounts or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant in a corporate entity.
  • Expertise in using Tally Software for accounting and financial management.
  • Familiarity with filing sales tax and income tax returns in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency in English and a local regional language in India, both spoken and written.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
